The film click I have chosen to do is from west from the badlands (1940). The genre it falls under is action/adventure, drama and western. The scene starts of with a medium shot of the male character. This enables the viewers to get a first impression of the character by the look of him and by his facial expressions, which the character is happy. The character is also smoking a cigarette whilst playing the guitar this could also symbolise to the audience that he is the relaxed character. This also tells the audience that he is one of the main characters in the film. Then from 0:13 to 0:17, the camera then switches to a medium shot of four male characters around a table playing a card game. The facial expressions of all the characters are happy as they seem to be enjoying themselves and are relaxed too. The setting of the click is seemed to be inside some sort of bar where there is karaoke going on. Then from 0:13 the camera switches to a close up on one of the male characters face. This is done to illustrate the emotions on the characters face; the character is happy and relaxed as he is singing and playing cards. This relates back to the last shot as they showed the character as happy and relaxed. Furthermore there is then a long shot of all the characters inside the bar to show what they are doing. It is also gives the shot a cheerful atmosphere as everyone is enjoying each others company. Also there are only men seen in this shot. Subsequently the camera then returns back to the medium shot of the four male characters. From that shot it switches to close up of a different character sat in the circle on the table. This could connote to the audience that the close up of the two of the characters show that they are two of the main characters of the movie. Moreover they are also the two that are facing towards the camera. Throughout the scene there are close up on two of the characters. This connote to the audience that the audience that something bad could happen to them during the movie. However this could also connote that they are the ones with the most power in the film. The camera shot then changes to a close up of the first character shown. This could connote to the audience that he is the mystery man as he is does not talk and is standing smoking a cigarette.
