50 Cent Poster

The background colouring which is black and white, this connotes that this advert may represent a hard which the celebrity experienced while growing up. This also could connote darkness which could also relate back to his life. The celebrity endorsement is a successful artist. The public who are familiar with this artist would know that he had a hard life; therefore he can communicate with the people who are from a similar background.

The lighting in the background connotes many things. The poster has been split into two one darker than the other. The lighter side of the poster contains fingerprints. This connotes that he was involved in crime. The darker side shows us that the celebrity is trying to hide away as he is ashamed of his past as his regrets what he has done.

The quote "I am what I am", suggest to the audience that it relates to the celebrity in the poster. This makes the public believe that the quote is telling us that yes he has done wrong in his life but does not look back at the past as what is done is done. Going back to the name Reebok, by wearing their brand you are being yourself. The second quote says “Where I'm from there is no plan B. So take advantage of today because tomorrow is not promised". This connotes the person is trying to say where he is from you might no see tomorrow as you could not be alive. Again going back to Reebok they are trying to get out to the public that they are a brand which is about today and not tomorrow.

The poster has a mid-shot of the celebrity fading away into a dark background. The artist is positioned to the side and has a serious look to him. He is wearing a hat, vest and a chain. This connotes that he is dressed in clothing that is worn on the streets. Therefore this shows that Rebook are trying to aim this advert at the public who relates to that. Reebok are trying to send a message out that they are a brand that does not aim at either wealthy or non wealthy people.

The dark Knight rises

The dark Knight rises
This poster has a dark background which relates back to the title which is called “Dark Knight Rises”. The colours give us a representation that the movie is all about darkness and is mainly based at night. The dark lightning adds mystery to the poster. This then shows us that the mystery of the poster would also make the audience more interested and wanting to watch it. The fire in the background connotes evil and danger, as the buildings in the background are getting blown up. This relates back to the text on the poster “A fire will rise”.  The dark lighting in the background tells us that the movie is about evil as batman is also dressed in black.
The text on the poster is represented in different ways. The title “The Dark Knight” is written in bright bold letters, as the background is dark by having the title in bright letters makes it stand out more. The bright white bold text makes it stand out more as it is the more important information which should be remembered by the audience. The other text written in bight letters is the release date. This connotes that they are trying to make sure the public know when it is coming out so they can go and watch it. At the top of the poster there are names of people who helped create the film. This connotes that they are the most important people who helped in the creating of the film as their names are on top of the poster.
The use of poses in the picture connotes that the movie is evil as the main character batman is looking down in anger as there is an explosion with fire in the background shaped into the batman logo. However batman is not the evil character in the movie. The poster also shows batman ready for a fight this connotes that there is most likely going to be action in the movie.
The use of framing in this poster connotes that the character has a big influence and effect on everyone else in the film. As the main title is written in bold and placed in the middle this shows the importance of the film in an overall perspective. The positioning and placing of the character connotes the dominance and the power he has in the movie. This also connotes that the character is a leader and plays a big part in the film. The structure of the poster connotes that it is a big hit in the box office.
The use of shots in the poster connotes to the viewers that the character is ready to have action. The shot of only one character connotes that he will be the one with the most power leading the movie. The shot of fire in the back also tells us that there will be danger in the movie. The shot of the buildings and the fire is from the bottom view from under the building which relates back to the text “a fire will rise”. The image of the main character on the cover of the poster is seen as a medium shot. However the other main characters of the film would be seen as a long shot. The different shots add tension to the film.
The background on the poster contains a building being destroyed by fire and the time is set during the night. This connotes the setting for most of the film. The setting is also seen to be unknown. The character has a serious facial expression which connotes that the film contains action and drama.  The clothing of the character relates to the theme as he is dressed in all black. The character is also clinging his fist, this connotes that he is ready for a fight. When the audience see the poster they straight away see it to be an action film with violence, revenge and power.
